| Stop
the Budget Cuts and Break with the Democrats |
The
Socialist Party of New Jersey stands with the forces fighting
against cuts to social services, worker’s wages, mass transit, health
services and education.
As an organization we have joined the “Take Back Trenton Coalition” and
supported “Better Choices for NJ” campaign., but the movement against
cuts seems to have stagnated. After 35,000 people rallied in to the
streets of Trenton in May 2010, energy has died down when it should be
building. We’ve also noticed that while Gov. Christie is still a
target, the Democrats seem to have been given a (mostly) free ride.
We need to build a movement that can take on both capitalist parties. A
socialist movement which calls for a budget which puts the people of
New Jersey over business profit, which fully funds public education,
fully subsidizes mass transit and supports the right of workers to
organize creates a state-wide single payer health care system. A
movement which demands a. progressive tax
system making the
richest pay their fair share and taking the burden off or workers and
their families.
Unless we challenge the status quo we’ll be doomed to be ruled by it. |
